Pray for …
the team to be Spirit-led in all they do.
the community to feel the love of Jesus from our group.
the construction projects to be safe and productive, while building relationships with those they serve.
unity among group members and seeds to be planted for the Kingdom.
the children to know the joy of being the hands and feet of Jesus.
actions and words that are pleasing to God and that point others to Christ.
an awareness that their service is an act of worship and that all they do will glorify God.
the children they will serve from the Baptist Community Center and the Baptist Friendship House – specifically that they will know how to minister to them in a way that they will respond to.
Since 2011, Gayton has sent a team of families on mission each summer. Participants span multiple generations, including toddlers, grandparents, and everyone in between. Members of the Gayton family serve side-by-side, sharing the love of Christ in word and deed with people throughout our region.
The trip provides an amazing opportunity for families to grow in community with one another, for kids to participate as full-fledged missionaries and for God to use each person’s gifts to grow His Kingdom.
In past years, the team has served in Westernport, Maryland and Roanoke, Virginia. In both locations, they served alongside individuals and organizations that are already invested in bringing Christ to their communities. The short-term service the team provides encourages and supports local missionaries in their long-term endeavors.
